FAMILY DAY 2009

On 22 August 2009, we had another successful VCFS Family Day. The Queensland weather was generous, giving us a cloudless pleasant day.

Six families descended upon Gordon Park with food and goodies to share. Stephen Russell and John Giles showed off their skills as MasterBBQers, making sure no one missed out on chicken skewers, burgers and sausages.

We had a nice showing of new families and "old" families, young children and teens.

The children played games, climbed trees, tested every piece of playground equipment, and generally showed off to the adults and teens who sat comfortably under the trees eating various slices.

If you could not make it to this year's Family Day, we hope these photos will tempt you to make it to the next one. Enjoy!

After after playing hard, it's important that we refuel with slices and brownies. At the VCFS Foundation of Queensland, we consider catching up with old friends and meeting new ones all part of playing hard. The adults earned their treats, too.

Mum and son share a laugh
J wore a helmet for "roller surfing", but there's no such need for that kind of protection when having a laugh with his mum.

Some of our teenage members gave us a run-down on what bands they liked. Of course when the adults shared their musical tastes, not all were impressed.
